Did you know that we have a 60 tree apple orchard within the Inver Hills Community Garden? Our trees need pruning to grow and flourish this summer! If you don’t know anything about tree pruning, that’s okay. The Dakota County Master Gardeners are offering a free class to teach tree pruning, and then we will practice/prune our orchard’s trees.
The free class/volunteer project is Saturday, March 26 from 1-3pm. In case of bad weather, our back up date is the following Saturday, April 2.
The community garden and apple orchard is located directly behind Heritage Hall. Over 600 lbs of produce was grown and donated last summer from our garden. Check out more info and pictures on the garden’s Facebook page.
If you can join us for the March 26 volunteer date/class, please pre-register at https://forms.office.com/r/AuPGK0fYb5
Feel free to reach out to Inver’s Community-Based Learning Coordinator, Shannon Williams, with questions about this event or volunteering in the garden at swilliams@inverhills.edu.
