I’m Nichelle; a lot of people call me Nicki. Either works! I’m the advisor for Student Senate and Phi Theta Kappa, and I supervise Student Ambassadors. I get to work with the best people on campus every day and I would love to talk to you about how you can join us!
Pronouns: She / Hers
Languages: English and American Sign Language, but I have a very expressive face, so my ASL classifiers instructor told me "Listen, not everything can be CHA!" which is a funny thing to say if you were in that class but I keep telling people like it is a universally joke that anyone would find funny.
Inver Hills Connections: I advise the Student Senate, Phi Theta Kappa, and the Student Ambassador Team, but I work with all of our student organizations.
Hobbies: I crochet all the time, it helps me concentrate on meetings or TV. I like to make amigurumi (crochet stuffed animals and dolls) and then give them to people I know.
Fun Fact: I’m a PTK advisor and member- I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa when I was a student at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. I was the Vice President of Service for my PTK chapter in 2003.

Your #1 Tip or Trick for Being a Successful Student: Know yourself more. What do you like best in a class? What do you like least? Are you better in the morning or the afternoon? Do you respond well to having everything on your calendar, or does that make you rebel and feel like "you can't tell me what to do?". For me, the standard tips aren't always the best ones- I like to take classes with more papers and fewer tests, and I need firm deadlines because they make me more creative- but that's not for everyone. Figure out what helps you and find ways to add more of that to your life!
What You Listen to in the Car: Podcasts or Lizzo usually.
