Please join us on April 22nd for IHCC’s Earth Day Symposium virtually on our Google Site!

This full day event will offer programs, presentations, and participation opportunities for our community as we explore interdisciplinary issues surrounding our environment.

Here is the following schedule of events that we will be hosting during the symposium:
8:30-9:00 Intro to Earth Day Presentation
9:00-10:00 Special Guest Speaker: Britt Forsberg, Director of the Minnesota Bee Atlas
10:00-11:00 Special Guest Speaker: Sheila O’Connor, Award-winning local novelist and author
11:00-12:00 Keynote Presentation: Jessica Hellmann, Director of the Institute on the Environment at UMN
12:00-12:30 Breakout Session: Debrief and Discussion with Dr. Hellmann
12:00-1:00 “Just Eat It” (Movie/lunch break)
1:00-2:00 Special Presentation: Jennifer Newsom and Tom Carruthers, Founders of Dream the Combine
2:00-3:30: What “is” an Environment Round-Table/Discussion: Special Guests, Faculty, and Students
3:30-4:00 Closing Remarks

PTK MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

1.) Qualify for Membership

Students who complete at least 12 college-level credits, earn a 3.5 semester GPA in at least one semester, and who maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 qualify for membership. If you are not sent an invitation to join contact ptk@inverhills.edu.

2.) Invitations Sent

Invitation emails and letters are sent to eligible students after the second week of fall and spring semester each year. The invitation will include instructions and your individual passcode needed to join.

3.) Join Online

Members pay a one-time membership fee and join using your passcode. If this fee is preventing you from joining instead apply for membership using our membership fee waiver application

4.) Induction and Get Involved!

We host an induction ceremony each semester. You must sign up to be inducted. Find out more by joining our meeting or take a look at our event calendar at inverhills.edu/ptk
