Now that students, instructors and staff are back to campus, it’s time to brush up on your face-to-face conversation and socializing skills. In this 90-minute webinar, author and “small talk” expert, Don Gabor will show you dozens of practical and confidence-building communication tips, techniques and strategies that are guaranteed to help you connect and build lasting relationships with your classmates and co-workers.
Based on his best-selling book, How to Start a Conversation and Make Friends, Don will teach you easy-to-learn skills for turning every encounter into a rewarding conversation and ways to improve your social, professional and personal contacts. Topics in this fast-paced online program include:
Sending and tuning into open body language signals
Breaking the ice and knowing what to say next
Introducing yourself and remembering names
Unleashing the power of small talk to discover and reveal common interests
Energizing the conversation by changing topics
Tactfully ending conversations and leaving a positive impression
Joining other conversations and mingling at social events
Students who complete at least 12 college-level credits, earn a 3.5 semester GPA in at least one semester, and who maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 qualify for membership. If you are not sent an invitation to join contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
2.) Invitations Sent
Invitation emails and letters are sent to eligible students after the second week of fall and spring semester each year. The invitation will include instructions and your individual passcode needed to join.
3.) Join Online
Members pay a one-time membership fee and join using your passcode. If this fee is preventing you from joining instead apply for membership using our membership fee waiver application
4.) Induction and Get Involved!
